
Current Tokyo Tower (namely Old Tokyo Tower) was completed in 1958 and the height of this tower is 333 meters. This tower is now very old and will not be able to fulfill the requirements to install the digital-broadcasting system in Japan to decommission the old analog-signal system in 2011. New Tokyo Tower will have the great antenna located at the highest place in the world and will have the latest technology to transmit the data to all kinds of digital devices (so, not only for TV, also for mobile phone, personal computers, digital game players and so on). |

Schedule Construction starts from 2008, and is scheduled to be complete in Dec, 2011 and it will open in the spring of 2012. Also from 2011, analog signals broadcasting system will be decommissioned due to this new tower's service and all broadcasts will move to"Digital" technology.
