Shiobara & Kamishiobara
After you enjoy Nikko and Kinugawa area, we recommend you to visit Kamishiobara
& Shiobara Onsen (Hot spring). Shiobara onsen was discovered in 806.
Here you can experience the traditional old onsen town in Japan. This area
has not been developed as the modern town and is filled with the nostalgia
and silence.
Check before you plan to go: If you plan to go there by Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station directly,
I strongly recommend you to make the reservation of free bus service of
hotel. Otherwise you will need to pay pretty penny to just arrive at hotel
from Nasu Shiobara station if you take Taxi. Also in Onsen Town, it's tough
to take bus when you wish. Therefore if you want to move dynamically, the
support of Hotel is indispensable. People are very gentle, so if you ask
they will help you. In onsen town it's almost impossible to find taxi.

Kamishiobara Onsen
In this area everywhere you will find the hot spring spots.It's very happy
when you enjoy Onsen in silent nature. All you will hear will be just sound
from hot spring spot and bird's song. People who come here forget every
daily problem. Onsen in Kamishiobara is very mild and confortable.

Nothing, but Nature & Silence
In Shiobara, there are several sightseeing spots. But if you expect the
excitement, amusement park or something very interesting, we don't necessarily
recommend you to visit Shiobara. As the healing area, Shiobara & Kamishiobara onsen is the best place. Very silent and
calm. Enjoy Japanese traditional Onsen Town.

Kamishiobara elementary school
Kamishiobara elementary school (1874-2005) is traditional, but was closed
because of the decrease of no of children in this area. This school was
very famous for the class of Onsen (Learn the manner to enjoy Onsen). This
school had the small bathroom where kids had the class of 'Onsen'. People
living here said this school is the important spiritual home for them.
